Current Assets

Current assets help managers determine a company's current liquidity. Liquidity means company's ability to meet its financial obligations. Marketability means a company's ability to liquidate an asset to cash within 12 months.

Current assets, or working assets, make money for companies. For example, a company uses cash to purchase inventory. The company sells the inventory, which turns into net receivables and then into cash. These assets generate money for the company.
