Central Tendency
Measures of central tendency are fundamental when describing data. Measures of central tendency describe the following:
- Where numbers tend to cluster
- Where most numbers are
- A single value that summarizes a set of data by locating the center of the data
There are four basic measures of central tendency:
- Mean: Average or arithmetic mean
- Median: The middle value of a dataset
- Mode: The value that occurs most
- Geometric mean: The "nth" root product of "n" numbers
